Back in 2007, a bunch of US crazy starts up appeared, who were attempting to make mind-controlled games a reality.
The idea was to sell you a headset that would measure your brain waves, using them to control in-game action.
By 2008, they seem to have disappeared… or did they?
Perhaps the most unique games I’ve seen for any smartphone have come from the Icelandic developers, MindGames. The company focuses on iOS games which you control with your state of mind via consumer brainwave headsets such as the NeuroSky MindWave, or the PLX Xwave. Since the company’s inception in 2010, they have produced two games, W.I.L.D and Tug of Mind.

The Los Angeles Times reports that a developer from Iceland, MindGames, has put out two apps in the Apple App Store that rely on the user’s brain activity. In the most recent game, W.I.L.D., which was released last month, gamers perform a variety of tasks–they wander through dreamlike landscapes, extinguish fires, and even (with an apparent nod to The Matrix) bend spoons.
